CNA Programs are NOT eligible for federal financial aid of any kind, including FAFSA.

Under federal law, CMS-certified nursing homes in Michigan are required to cover or reimburse your CNA training and testing costs. Here's exactly how it works — and what you need to do.
How it works — step by step
Pay for your CNA program upfront. Keep all receipts and proof of payment — you'll need these for reimbursement.
Finish your program and pass the Michigan state CNA exam to become certified and placed on the registry.
Accept a position at a Medicare- or Medicaid-certified nursing home within 12 months of completing training.
Provide proof of training costs and payment to your employer's HR department and request reimbursement.
Your employer is federally required to reimburse your full tuition and testing fees. This is not optional for them.
If you are already working at — or have a job offer from — a CMS-certified nursing home before class starts, your employer must pay your training costs directly. You may not need to pay anything upfront at all. Talk to your employer's HR department before you enroll.
